The Lotus is a single-fin shortboard and first-generation mini-gun, originally a late-1960s cooperative design between Bing and Dick Brewer, later re-designed by Matt Calvani. It has a wide, flat nose with a displacement hull entry for smooth wave entry and glide, and a thick, pulled-in pintail with double concave for rail-to-rail turning and speed. Built for small to medium-sized waves, suited to surfers wanting tighter single-fin turning combined with fish-like glide.
