Rare Bird EVO

The Rare Bird EVO is an all-round shortboard from Chilli Surfboards, an updated version of the original Rare Bird model. It features a single-to-double concave with slight vee through the tail for rail-to-rail transitions, a modernized pulled-in thumb tail, and medium rails. The outline has been adjusted from the earlier model for maneuverability in small waves and drive in bigger swells, including overhead conditions. It uses a five-fin setup compatible with FCS II or Futures systems, allowing thruster or other fin configurations. Standard sizes run from 5'0" to 7'0", with volumes from 20L to 51L. Chilli positions it between their BV2 and SHORTIE models in the range, and recommends riding it the same length as a previous Rare Bird, or 2-4 inches shorter than a standard shortboard. It is built as an all-rounder suited to a range of wave sizes from small surf to overhead barrels.
