Pedestrian Ship

The Pedestrian Ship is a shortboard designed by Ryan Lovelace, created for the 2024 STAB Magazine Electric Acid Surfboard Test, where surfer Dave Rastovich selected it as the winning board. Lovelace describes it as a sleek fish shape with a relatively small swallowtail, blending elements of his earlier fish designs with new experimentation. The board uses a complex bottom contour: rail rocker for smooth, continuous turning, a kink and release behind the fin created by a channel exit, and a center-line rocker that stays low up front for paddle speed and accelerates toward the tail for looseness underfoot. A wide, flat plane flanks the channel for a skating feel, while a narrow central vee under the back foot adds control. The production model was 3D-scanned directly from Rastovich's own board to replicate it precisely. It is offered across a size run of 5'7" to 6'4", scaled proportionally rather than varied in shape between sizes, with volumes from 25.6L to 37.3L.
