The Power Tiger XL is a high-performance thruster, quad, or five-fin surfboard developed by Pyzel Surfboards with input from John John Florence. It sits between the Red Tiger and Ghost models in the Pyzel lineup, intended for use once waves get bigger and more powerful than what the Red Tiger handles. The outline pulls in both nose and tail for added curve, which improves hold at speed through turns and allows the board to fit into hollow, cupped-out wave faces. Rails are thinned to allow the board to sink on rail in powerful conditions and to aid knifing into barrels. The tail rocker has slightly more curve through the last 18 inches, adding looseness and hold through turns. Stock dimensions run slightly narrower and thinner than the equivalent Red Tiger length. Sizes range from 5'6" to 6'6" with volumes from 24.7L to 43L, aimed at surfers who need more foam or length than the standard Power Tiger offers, in medium to high-performance, powerful surf conditions.
