The Shadow

The Shadow is a high performance shortboard from Pyzel, developed as a redesign of the Phantom model. It has a high performance outline with the wide point at center rather than behind center, a pulled-in nose with added rocker through the last 12 inches, a gentle hip, and a squash tail pulled in slightly to tighten turning radius. Tail rocker and bottom concave are similar to the Phantom. Volume is kept more forward of center, with added foam under the chest area for paddle power and front-foot float in slower sections. It is built for a wave range of 3 to 8 feet and is suited to beach breaks, points, reefs, and slabs. The manufacturer states it can help intermediate surfers progress while also suiting more advanced surfers. It comes in Thruster, Quad, and 5-fin setups, with medium-high rocker and a single concave with double concave running to vee through the tail.
